Is your chance better with the Friesian, Thoroughbred, Paint or Arabian? You decide as you chose your horse to TRAIN! As you "Train" your horse by traveling around the board with the roll of a di and playing cards, you will be awarded points for training your horse! You will also be awarded points for blue ribbons and taking good care of your horse! Be careful! You better take good care of your horse and the barn too, or you might get GROUNDED! Get all the trainings that your horse is best at, and then head for the barn! Make sure that you have the best trained horse though so that you have the most points!

Gallop Home with this game under your arm

I bought this game about this time a year ago for my daughter who is 9. It was a quick "That's nice" and then on to the other presents; but the two of us set down and started playing Gallop Home, it quickly became her favorite game. I know a little about horses and the various breeds and what those breeds are primarily focused on doing. I never expected this game to be educational in that way. My daughter who loves this game had no background at all in horses, but now she understands the various uses for the Arabian or the Thoroughbred and she knows as she works her way around the board which spaces are the best to land for that particular breed she is playing during the game. Neither of us really care who wins(I guess you can tell she beats me most of the time); but it's fun and I get a real thrill everytime she asks me to play it with her . . . OK . . . fast forward a year . . . she is still wanting to play it every day and I'll take that over TV anytime. BUY THIS GAME - - - play it a couple times and once you get a feel for it, you and the kids will be hooked.

My daughter received this game for her 6th b-day. We have played this game a number of times and just love it! Not only is it a fun horse game, it is one of those games that your child can play alone as there is no way to cheat!
If you are a horse lover, this game is a must! Great for older kids as well!

New Run of Gallop Home

Thank you for all the great reviews on the Gallop Home Game! The first Run of Gallop Home game did have a few games that the molds on the horse heads did not cure properly. This has been fixed with new type of material that is used! No more broken pieces! Sincerely, the inventor of Gallop Home ...Jennifer

A Granddaughter and Grams special!

This game is a wonderful educational tool as well as being fun to play. My granddaughter was in need of improving her reading in 1st grade. When the game came, she wanted to read the cards and has really put her mind to reading them to me! My how she has improved! This game has become a special item for the two of us with which to share special time. She teaches me all about horses and I have learned more than I ever dreamed of knowing. She rides now and I watch, but we "gallop home" together. It is a wonderful addition to our family. And the customer service from the creators is the best I have experienced in years. Grams and Hailey (2nd grader now).

Great Board Game

My 5 year old loves this game. She plays 5 to 6 games a day with me and her grandmother and could play more if we would play with her. I think this game is a great game for horse loves and no horses lovers.

WOW! My kids loved it!!

When reading previous reviews we had to have this game for Christmas. My two little girls 10 and 6 sleep, drink and whinny for horses. When opening the game on Christmas there was a slight problem, 2 of the playing pieces (which are small horse heads beautifully painted) had their ears broken off and the board had snapped in half when we removed it from the box. Not wanting to deny my girls the pleasure of the game I did not return it. I contacted the gallop home website and they explained there was a manufacturing problem and that it had been corrected. They immediately offered me replacement pieces and a board which they sent to me immediately and told me to go ahead and play the the game instead of return it. The customer service was astounding. My girls could have played that game all night. It was simple enought for my six year old and fed both of the kid's love for horses. If you have a horse loving little girl don't pass this one up!

Great Game!

Amazon.com shows this game is for 7 to 10...but I find it to be very enjoyable for ALL ages. We have had children as young as 6 play the game, while their brothers, and sisters that are much older love to play it along with them! With the scoring, and the luck of the dice, the playing cards, and the beautiful board, even adults love to play the game! Many children that are not even horse lovers have enjoyed playing the game because of the scoring system! Hundreds of children have sent in the comment card that comes with the game with rave reviews! Mothers have personally called the developer of the game to comment on how their children love the game! It is a MUST HAVE!

Our kids LOVE this game!!

My 6 year old daughter and her friends have played this game for hours since we purchased it. We are horse fanatics and we searched high and low for a good equestrian game, this is it!
The horse bust pawns are a nice feature, our daughter always wants to be the 'Paint' horse! Even if you're not a horse freak like us, it's a great game for the whole family.
